Colorado overall is one of the best states in all categories. With an innovative economy and above average rate of business growth, it resembles a Rocky Mountain version of California. Only, this state has some of the best rates for economic diversity and low unemployment rates. Colorado has the highest rate of 4-year degrees of any state population and one of the highest rates of professional and graduate degrees. K-8 reading and Math scores are some of the best in the US as well.

Colorado is the least obese state in the union. Despite high costs of healthcare, the average Coloradan has made healthy life style choices, and hold the title of second highest state for quality of life according to Gallup. Besides the government’s use of technology and open data, the state has fairly average government outcome numbers.

Recommendations
Cost of healthcare and state debt are the lowest ranked areas for Colorado. Despite good measures in many other areas, government debt and cost of living, especially in health, could lead Colorado down a path already tread by California. Avoiding this situation is advisable.
