Results Champion?: NO
Minnesota has the best overall outcomes of any state in 2014. All goal areas for this state are above average in the rankings or better. The state is tied with Massachusetts for the 1st place position in education and public health. The state is also 3rd in public safety. Only a few specific measures are of concern.
The state should be aware of the few outcomes it can improve. Among these are Business competitiveness, tax burden, water quality, and government data access and transparency.
Much of Minnesota has top quality outcomes. Most of the problem areas in the state can be solved by government. Reducing taxes and encouraging business competition are a start. Beginning an open data initiative which would not only put government data online, but also its financial records, would ensure Minnesota keeps the best results measures in the nation.
