Montana stands out in the areas of environment and transportation infrastructure. Environmentally, the state has outcomes in the top 10 among states in air quality, carbon emissions, and rate of renewable energy generation. The state’s K-8 reading scores are excellent. The state has a diverse economy, low rates of obesity, and is overall one of the best states for quality of life and happiness.

The Treasure state has below average rankings overall in the fields of economy, health, and government operations. The state’s economy is small, has very few venture capital investments in recent years, and features tepid economic growth measures. Additionally, Montana has issue with high rates of uninsured and workplace injury.

Recommendations
Healthcare, especially the rate of uninsured, should be primary focus for Montana. After this is resolved, improving the growth measures and encourage venture capital deals would go far to improve the state.
